Our First Steps
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting the nursery & breeding departments of the Guide Dog Foundation and America's VetDogs.
DonateOur mission is to help provide the resources these departments need to care for mothers and puppies, ensuring they receive the highest level of care from the very beginning of their journey.
Every donation helps give these remarkable dogs the healthiest possible start as they prepare to become life-changing partners for people who are blind or visually impaired, as well as veterans and first responders with disabilities.
We are an all-volunteer, grassroots group. With no buildings to maintain and no salaries to pay, every dollar goes straight to the nursery, providing essential resources for future service dogs.

And more, every gift going straight to the mothers and puppies.
The reason we do this.
Our First Steps To Service has been a huge help in obtaining equipment that assists us in our daily work. They purchased a portable sonogram machine that syncs with an iPad we use to verify a pregnancy, and that is also helpful during the birthing process. As with all babies, the amount of laundry is astronomical, so they donated an industrial washing machine to help us keep up.
The nursery staff is proud to be a part of the Guide Dog Foundation and America's VetDogs program, and we are thankful for their endeavors to support us.
Every dollar goes straight to the nursery and breeding programs that care for mothers and puppies.
